French Toast Casserole

1 loaf texas toast bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

8 eggs, lightly beaten

3 cups milk

4 tsp. sugar

1 1/2 tsp.v anilla

1/2 tsp. salt

 

 

TOPPING: 2 tbsp. butter, 3 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. ground cinnamon, Maple syrup, optional

 

Directions:

 

Place bread cubes in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, vanilla, milk, sugar and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

 

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Dot with butter. C

 

ombine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the top.

Cover and bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until a knife  comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes. Serve with maple syrup  or honey if desired.
