Luella graduated with an agriculture degree from the University of Missouri. She served as Chairperson for her local Women in Agriculture Awareness group for several years. Luella has worked with 4-H youth, and commodity groups to promote agriculture education in the classroom.  She now focuses on agriculture education program development as a contractor to the National Agriculture Foundation and beef checkoff. She is also the author of a cookbook and children's book series that highlights today's farm families and modern agriculture.

Her passion for cooking and agriculture literacy has provided the opportunity to promote commodities/ingredients and how they are grown through TV cooking segments and outreach.

Luella's passion for writing has provided the opportunity to share stories in Missouri Farmer Today, Farm & Ranch Magazine, Seed World, Missouri Life and more. Her blog and social media outreach (launched in 2010) captures the story of farm life and the people that are behind everyday products.

Her most important title is Mom. Her and her husband and son raise cattle, crops and hay in Northeast Missouri. She credits her father, a farmer, for instilling a passion for agriculture and farm life. To her, career and personal life mesh into one, as she shares her passion for food and farming.
